Derek Edholm begins his fourth season with Minot State football as co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Edholm rejoined Minot State head coach Mike Aldrich as the two coached together at Southwest Minnesota State and Wayne State College.
He served as the offensive coordinator at Anoka High School, a 6A school in Minnesota, in 2016. Edholm spent a season at SMSU working with the team’s tight ends and was also the tight ends coach at WSC for two years. He started his career at his alma mater, Bemidji State, as a volunteer coach while working with quarterbacks and wide receivers.
Edholm was a standout quarterback at Bemidji State from 2006-2010, starting 33 games for the Beavers. He was twice named team captain. He was BSU’s offensive Most Valuable Player as a junior, passing for 1,662 yards and 25 touchdowns. He earned All-NSIC honors three times during his collegiate career.
Edholm is a 2011 graduate of Bemidji State with a degree in business administration. He completed his Master’s degree at Wayne State College in sports management in 2015.
