Jon Davidson is in his second season with Minot State University, serving as a Graduate Assistant Football Coach. Davidson will primarily work with the Beavers linebackers in 2015.
Davidson helped coach the Beavers to the second best pass defense in the NSIC in terms of passing yards per game (182.8) in his first season with the team while the defensive unit as a whole ranked in the top half of the conference.Â
A native of Sammamish, Wash., Davidson played college football at Idaho State University. During a solid career, he played in 37 games and made 20 starts at nickel and corner back. He finished his career with 70 tackles, 14 pass breakups, three tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, a sack and an interception.
He was invited to a pre-draft workout with the Seattle Seahawks in 2014 and earned an invitation to Rookie Minicamp with the Seahawks following the 2014 NFL Draft.
Davidson prepped at Skyline High School in Sammamish and won two Washington State Football Championships, going 28-0 from 2007-2008. He helped Skyline to the 2007 3A State Championship and the 2008 4A title and the team earned a No. 5 ranking in the USA Today Power 25.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in both Spanish and Finance from Idaho State and speaks fluent Spanish.
