Shane LaDage begins his fourth season with Minot State, and third as the co-offensive coordinator, in 2019. LaDage primarily works with with the team's wide receivers and is MSU football's recruiting coordinator.
MSU named LaDage interim head coach during the offseason following the completion of the 2016 season to span between head coaching positions with the Beavers.
In the 2017 season, Minot State finished the season with a 3-8 overall record and secured the program's first win against a team with a winning record when it topped St. Cloud State in the season finale.
In 2016, he helped MSU tie his team record for wins in a season during the program's NCAA Division-II era. MSU's offense averaged 319 yards per game.
A former Southwest Minnesota State tight end, LaDage has coached at his alma mater, Saint Joseph's College and, most recently, the University of Wyoming. At Wyoming, LaDage served as the coach of the team's tight end over the past two seasons as well as assisted in the team's special teams. He helped the Cowboys offense rank fifth in passing in the Mountain West Conference in 2014 and first in the Mountain West in time of possession (2014).
He spent a single season at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind., where he was Pass Game Coordinator/Co-Special Teams Coordinator/Wide Receivers & Tight Ends Coach. His team was first in total offensive in the GLVC, first in rushing offense, and second in scoring in 2013.
At Southwest Minnesota State, he coached wide receivers for a season, tight ends for two years, and served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach from 2011-13. SMSU's offense set the school single-season record for rushing touchdowns in 2012 (23 TD runs), posted the second best single-season rushing total in school history in 2012 (1,888 rushing yards) and recorded the third best single season in total offense (4,363 yards). He finished his four-year playing career as team captain for the Mustangs in 2010, earning all NSIC South Division in 2009 and 2010.
LaDage has two degrees from SMSU, earning a Master's of Education, Sports Leadership in 2013 and a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science degree with a minor in Coaching in 2011.
He and his wife, Michelle, were married in 2016 and have a daughter, Brooke.
