Joel Wallace

Joel Wallace begins his second season as a graduate assistant coach for the Minot State men’s basketball program in 2020-21.

The 2019-20 Beavers went 10-19 overall following his first season with the program.  
 
Prior to Minot, Wallace spent two years at Ridgewater College as an assistant coach. In his two seasons under head coach Nate Thooft, the new staff saw development from a five-win season to an 11-win season.

The Bellevue, Nebraska native got his start in coaching as a student-assistant at Southwest Minnesota State University under head coach Brad Bigler where the Mustangs went 28-6 in Wallace’s last year with the program. SMSU won the NSIC Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Regional Final to finish the 2016-17 season.

Wallace completed his undergrad at Southwest Minnesota State University and earned his Bachelor of Science in mental and physical health and wellness as well as a minor in coaching. He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in sports management.
