Maverick Harris

Maverick Harris begins his first season as a Director of Operations for both the Minot State men's and women’s basketball program. Harris spent last season as a graduate assistant coach for the Minot State men’s basketball team.

The Beavers men's basketball team went 10-19 overall during his final season as a graduate assistant. 

Prior to joining Minot State, he was an assistant coach at Franklin College in Franklin, Ind. Following that season, two Grizzlies were named to the All-Conference team as John Beineke earned Second Team All-Heartland Conference honors, while Kale Morris landed on the Honorable Mention mention list.

Prior to his stint at Franklin, Harris played four years at Northland College where he earned his degree in business management with a minor in writing. Playing in 101 games in his career, Harris also served as a team captain his senior season and helped lead the Lumberjacks to their first winning season in 20 years, and first tournament berth in over 11 seasons.

Harris has traveled internationally to Costa Rica and Spain to play against some of the top teams in those countries. During the tours, he helped coach various local and Special Olympics camps.

He has also spent time assisting Joey Burton, who is a skill development coach, working with top high school, college, and professional players.

Harris earned a master’s degree in Sports Management.
