Beavers fall in finale

Minot State finishes season with loss at SCSU

Box Score ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Minot State University could get to 17 against St. Cloud State in Saturday's season finale – but no closer.

The Beavers fell in straight sets with identical 25-17 scores as the Huskies completed a sweep in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's volleyball at Halenbeck Hall.

Minot State finished its first season in the Northern Sun with an injury-filled 2-18 record and 6-24 overall. SCSU improved to 10-18 overall and 6-14 in conference play.

Hitting percentage was the key statistical breakdown for the Beavers as Minot State finished with 22 kills and 21 errors for a .011 hitting percentage. Set 3 proved to be the only set in the match where Minot State had more kills than errors.

The Huskies weren't much more efficient, hitting .151 overall, but finished out the match with a 14-kill, 6-error set 3. SCSU got a match-high nine kills from Allison Butler to go along with 10 assists and four digs. Erin Ohlemann added 19 assists and Brianne Stamer finished with 18 digs.

Mallory Sall (Fr., OH, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia) paced the Beavers with seven kills and Tarah Dabovich (Fr., MH, Phoenix, Ariz.) added five kills and two block assists. Emily Byrne (So., S, Reno, Nev.) finished out the season with 18 assists for the Beavers.
