SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - The Minot State University volleyball team fell in three sets (18-25, 15-25, 22-25) to the No. 8 ranked Augustana on Saturday evening.
The Beavers challenged in all three matches trailing 9-10 in match one, tying at 9-9 in match two and keeping at pace with the Vikings throughout set three.
"We did well in all three sets," head coach
Ben Kaszeta said. "We were bothered a bit by their size and we need to learn how to hit around those types of blocks. We attacked agressively, but weren't able to come out on top."
Freshman
Emily Falldorf once again led the Beavers in points with 10.5 from nine kills and three blocks. Her nine kills matches her high against NSIC opponents.
Janelle Nagy matched Falldorf in kills with nine while also recording nine digs. Fellow senior
Cindy Pelo led the team in digs with 16. Setter
Kelsey Dewulf assisted on 32 kills, a season-high for the sophomore.
Minot State returns home next week with two games on Friday and Saturday, October 7 and 8. The Beavers play St. Cloud State on Friday at 7 p.m. and Minnesota Duluth on Saturday at 6 p.m.
