ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Minot State volleyball team continued Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play at No. 24 Northern State on Saturday, falling 3-0 (25-27, 11-25, 14-25).

Saturday's loss drops the Beavers to 3-7 (0-2 NSIC) on the season while No. 24 Northern State improves to 9-1 (2-0 NSIC).

Sophomore Shelby Spuller paced the Beaver attack with 13 kills, followed by nine kills from Emily Falldorf.

Kelsey Dewulf handed out 31 assists along with six digs. Karli Koza and Mekayla Gurley led the defense with 15 and 13 digs, respectively.

Inside Set 1

Minot State led nearly the entire way in the first set, but the Wolves went on a 7-2 run to win the set, 27-25. The Beavers raced out to an 11-7 advantage and led the entire set until Northern State tied it up at 23. MSU scored off a kill from Jeanne Brenner to reach set point at 25-24, but the Wolves reeled off three straight points.

Inside Set 2

Northern State flipped the script in the second set, leading from the start. The Wolves used a 10-0 run to jump out to a 13-2 lead. The Beavers cut the deficit to 10, 15-5, off a kill from Falldorf, but Northern State pulled away with a 25-11 win.

Inside Set 3

Minot State battled tough with the Wolves, cutting the deficit to 15-14 off a kill from Falldorf. Northern State answered with a 10-0 run to seal the game at 25-14.
