Box Score 2 MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State volleyball team split their two games Saturday afternoon in the Sleep Inn & Suites Minot State Classic.
The Beaver suffered their first loss of the season, losing to MSU Moorhead in the first match, 3-1. MSU responded with a 3-1 win over Bemidji State in the nightcap.
Game One
After dropping the first set, Minot State responded with 25-20 win in the second set to even the match at one apiece. MSU Moorhead edged the Beavers 29-27 in the third set and went on to win the fourth set, 25-16.
Shelby Spuller carried the Beavers with 17 kills.
Emily Falldorf notched 10 kills and three blocks.
Hayley Swain posted eight kills along with a team-high four blocks.
Kelsey Dewulf dished out 43 assists while also totaling eight digs on the defense.
Karli Koza recorded a team-high 22 digs, followed by 14 digs from
Shae Pedersen.
Game Two
Minot State answered their first loss with a four-set victory (20-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-19) over Bemidji State to improve their record to 3-1 on the season.
Spulled notched a double-double in the match with 13 kills and 10 digs. Swain recorded 11 kills and four blocks for the Beavers. Falldorf totaled team-high's of five blocks and three service aces while posting eight kills.
Dewulf handed out 40 assists along with five digs on the defensive side.
Koza led the Beaver defense with 20 digs in the match.
