Three Beavers Reach Double Figures in Tackles Against Wayne State

MINOT, N.D. -- Sophomore Derek Wax recorded 10 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and a sack, but Minot State lost to Wayne State 34-0 on Saturday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game in Herb Parker Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Maliki Wilson, who rushed for 145 yards, scored on a 1-0 yard run at the 7:36 mark of the second quarter giving the Wildcats a 7-0 lead at halftime
  • Maliki Wilson caught an 11-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Bleil with 10:43 to play in the third quarter upping the Wayne State lead to 14-0
  • Josh Taylor returned an interception 12 yards for a touchdown at the 9:53 mark of the third quarter increasing the Wildcats lead to 21-0
  • Aaron Bleil connected with Mason Lee on a 31-yard touchdown pass with 6:14 to play in the third quarter to push the lead to 28-0
  • Alex Thramer found Nate Rogers for a 15-yard score with 4:55 to play in the game to cap the scoring
BEAVER TRACKS
  • Derek Wax finished with 10 tackles and led the Beavers with 4.0 tackles for loss and a sack
  • Kywan Owens paced the Beavers defense with 13 tackles
  • Chris Rivers also posted double figures in tackles with 12
  • Ben Bolinske rushed for 86 yards to lead the Beavers ground game
  • Ben Bolinske was 12-22 for 97 yards
  • Kylar Sharp came in during the fourth quarter in relief of Ben Bolinske
  • Lavante Bushnell had five receptions for 44 yards
  • Lofton Klabunde, Connor Beeston and Demond Short each had two receptions
