Torgerson Rushes for 224 Yards at MSU Moorhead

MINOT, N.D. -- Junior Lane Torgerson rushed for a career-high 224 yards and a touchdown, but Minot State dropped a 51-26 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game to Minnesota State Moorhead on Saturday at Scheels Field at Nemzek Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A Zach Simons 1-yard touchdown run and a field goal from Joe Tjosvold gave the Dragons a 10-0 lead
  • Lane Torgerson exploded for a 68-yard touchdown run cutting the lead to 10-7 with 10:13 to play in the second quarter
  • Bryce Meehl connected with Jake Richter on a 7-yard TD pass to increase the lead to 17-7
  • Ben Bolinske scored from two yards out to bring Minot State to within 17-14 with 4:23 to play before halftime
  • Bryce Meehl scored on a 15-yard run giving the Dragons a 24-14 lead at halftime
  • Following a Dragons touchdown, Connor Beeston hauled in a 45-yard scoring strike from Ben Bolinske to bring Minot State within 31-21
  • Minnesota State Moorhead answered with two touchdowns to push the lead to 44-23
  • JoseLuis Moreno capped the Beavers scoring with a 24-yard field goal
BEAVER TRACKS
  • Lane Torgerson rushed for a career-high 224 yards, which marked the second most rushing yards for Minot State in the DII era behind only the 255 yards set by Ben Zahiser in 2016
  • Kywan Owens broke the Minot State single-game tackles record in the DII era with 22 total tackles, which included 15 solo stops
  • Ben Bolinske was 7-of-17 for 110 yards and a touchdown
  • Demond Short and Devon Owens each had two receptions to lead the Beavers
  • Lane Torgerson finished with 261 yards of total offense
  • Kiante Goudeau recorded 10 tackles and a tackle for loss
  • Derek Wax and Jordan Will combined on a sack for Minot State
