MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State volleyball team will travel to Minnesota this weekend for a pair of Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matches. On Friday (Oct. 5), Minot State will face Minnesota State at 6 p.m. and then meet Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday (Oct. 6) at 5 p.m.
Minot State, which is currently 9-9 on the season and 3-6 in the NSIC, is battling for one of the top eight spots and berth in the conference tournament. Wayne State, Minnesota State Moorhead and Winona State are all currently tied for seventh in the conference standings with 5-4 records, while Minnesota State and Upper Iowa are one game back with 4-5 records. The Beavers follow with a 3-6 mark with an opportunity to catch Minnesota State on Friday.
The Beavers, who are 3-3 on the road this season, are led offensively by junior outside hitter
Shelby Spuller. Spuller leads the Beavers with 257 kills and is averaging 3.84 kills per set.
Emily Falldorf leads the team averaging 0.72 blocks per set and ranks second on the team averaging 2.09 kills per set.
Hayley Swain has been outstanding for the Beavers in the last six matches as she has posted an impressive .411 attack percentage. She has 57 kills and only 11 errors over the six-match streak. She leads Minot State with a .330 attack percentage and ranks second on the team averaging 0.49 blocks per set.

Karli Koza and senior
Kelsey Dewulf are each closing in on NCAA Division II era career records for Minot State. Koza, who leads the Beavers with 331 digs, needs just 15 digs to break the school career mark. She currently has 831 digs and the record is 845 held by
Cindy Pelo. Dewulf has 2,892 career assists and needs 106 assists to break the existing record held by Emily Byrne.
