BOLIVAR, Mo. -- Senior David Akibo scored 23 points and Minot State overcame a 10-point halftime deficit by closing the game on a 13-0 run as the Beavers defeated Lincoln (Mo.) 78-69 on Saturday at the Southwest Baptist Classic on Hammons Court.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• David Akibo and Max Cody each scored seven points, but Lincoln (Mo.) took a 42-32 halftime lead by shooting 51.6 percent from the floor
• Minot State shot 58.6 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored the Blue Tigers 46-27
• David Akibo scored 16 points in the second half, while Dorian Aluyi had 11 points
• Minot State used a 10-0 run midway through the second half to cut a 10-point deficit down to 50-47 with 12:57 to play
• David Akibo went in front to stay when David Akibo drilled a three-pointer with 1:06 to play in the game
• Minot State closed the game on a 13-0 run
• Minot State had four players reach double figures in scoring

• David Akibo scored 23 points to lead Minot State, which marked his second consecutive 20-point game
• Dorian Aluyi scored 15 points and also had three rebounds and two assists
• Max Cody finished with 15 points and one assist
• Kody Dwyer also reached double figures with 10 points
• David Akibo added eight rebounds to lead the Beavers
• Dorian Aluyi was 6-of-8 from the floor
