MINOT, N.D. -- Kari Clements scored 18 points and had four steals leading Minot State to an 82-48 non-conference victory over Yellowstone Christian in the Beavers home opener on Tuesday in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Minot State dominated from the outset as the Beavers shot 60.0 percent from the floor and held a 27-13 lead after the first quarter as Kari Clements scored seven points and Mollie Wilson and Calli Delsman each had five points
• Minot State limited Yellowstone Christian to 33.3 percent shooting in the second quarter and got seven points from Madison Wald to take a 40-21 lead into halftime
• Kari Clements scored six points and Madison Wald added five points as the Beavers increased the lead to 61-36 after three quarters of play
• Azaria Reed scored eight points and Caitlin Deaton, Danielle Rizzari and Kari Clements scored three points each in the fourth quarter

• Kari Clements was 7-of-11 from the floor and 2-of-2 from the free throw line to lead the Beavers with 18 points
• Kari Clements added four rebounds, four steals and three assists
• Madison Wald was 5-of-9 from the field and scored 14 points
• Azaria Reed had eight points and two rebounds
• Reina Strand recorded eight rebounds, six points and two assists
• Raegan Sanchez and Whitney Molina tied for the team lead with Kari Clements with three assists
• Anna Counts had two blocked shots
