MINOT, N.D. -- Madison Wald scored a season-high 21 points and Minot State limited Dickinson State to 20 points in the second half as the Beavers defeated the Blue Hawks 74-59 in a non-conference game on Wednesday in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Minot State got seven points from Madison Wald and six points each from Gabby Wilkinson and Mariah Payne as the Beavers stormed out to a 28-17 lead after the first quarter
• Minot State shot a blistering 83.3 percent from the floor in the first quarter
• Dickinson State limited Minot State to 27.8 percent shooting and outscored the Beavers 22-15 in the second quarter, but Minot State still held a 43-39 lead at halftime
• Minot State seized control of the game in the third quarter by forcing eight Blue Hawks turnovers and holding Dickinson State to 1-of-7 shooting from the floor
• Anna Counts scored five points and Reina Strand added three points in the fourth quarter as the Beavers closed out the game

BEAVER TRACKS

• Madison Wald was 9-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-6 from the three-point line to lead the Beavers with 21 points
• Mariah Payne added 11 points, four rebounds and four assists for Minot State
• Anna Counts posted her first double-figure scoring game for the Beavers as she had 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocked shots
• Calli Delsman finished with seven points on 3-of-6 shooting from the floor
• Gabby Wilkinson made 4-of-5 shots from the field and had eight points
• Haley Hildenbrand grabbed a team-high eight rebounds and also scored four points

TEAM NOTES

• Minot State improved to 3-0 on the season with the win
• Minot State shot 45.0 percent from the floor
• The Beavers limited Dickinson State to 27.5 percent shooting for the game
• Minot State held a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter
