ABERDEEN, S.D. -- David Akibo reached double figures in scoring for the seventh straight game with 19 points, but Northern State made 11 three-point baskets on its way to an 85-72 victory over the Beavers in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest in Wachs Arena on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Northern State made 9-of-16 three-point attempts in the first half and built a 44-30 halftime lead
• Minot State shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first half
• Max Cody and Kyle Beisch each scored eight points in the first half for Minot State
• David Akibo scored 15 points in the second half
• Minot State shot 48.3 percent from the floor in the second half and outscored the Wolves 42-41

• David Akibo led Minot State in scoring with 19 points
• Max Cody scored 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field
• Kyle Beisch also reached double figures for the Beavers with 11 points
• Dorian Aluyi led the Beavers with eight rebounds and also scored eight points
