Cody Ties D2 Era Record in Loss to Minnesota State Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. -- Max Cody scored 15 points and tied the Beavers school record for assists in a game with 13, but Minnesota State Moorhead closed the game on a 15-9 run to edge Minot State 91-86 on Saturday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest in Nemzek Fieldhouse.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Minot State rode a hot shooting start to jump out to a 29-13 lead with 9:41 to play in the first half
  • A layup by Max Cody gave the Beavers a 44-33 lead with 1:30 to play in the first half
  • The Dragons closed the first half on a 6-0 run to close the Beavers lead to 44-39 at halftime
  • Max Cody had 11 points and David Akibo had 10 points to lead Minot State in the first half
  • MSU Moorhead opened the second half on a 6-0 run to take a 45-44 lead with 18:21 to play in the game
  • The Beavers stretched the lead back to 75-65 on a dunk by Dorian Aluyi with 6:14 to play in the game
  • MSU Moorhead regained the lead for good on a layup with 2:47 to play
  • David Akibo scored 13 points in the second half and Dorian Aluyi scored 10 points
