ABERDEEN, S.D. -- Madison Wald scored 16 points and Kari Clements added 13 points, but Minot State's rally fell short as the Beavers dropped a 57-54 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game to Northern State on Friday in Wachs Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Northern State shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the first quarter and raced out to an 18-9 lead
• Madison Wald and Kari Clements combined for all 10 Minot State points in the second quarter, but the Wolves took a 32-19 lead into halftime
• Haley Hildenbrand, Madison Wald and Mariah Payne each scored four points in the third quarter as the Beavers outscored the Wolves 20-18 in the third quarter to trim the lead to 50-39
• Reina Strand scored six points in the fourth quarter and the Beavers outscored Northern State 15-7 in the final quarter
