MINOT, N.D. -- Haley Hildenbrand scored a season-high 14 points and Kari Clements added 13 points, but Minnesota Duluth defeated Minot State 74-48 in the Beavers Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home opener on Friday in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Minnesota Duluth closed the first quarter on an 8-2 run to take a 17-10 lead after the opening period
• Minnesota Duluth shot 71.4 percent from the floor in the second quarter to take a 41-26 lead into the intermission
• Kari Clements scored six points and grabbed three rebounds, but the Bulldogs expanded their lead by outscoring Minot State 19-12 in the third quarter
• Mariah Payne and Azaria Reed each scored three points in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs closed out the game by outscoring the Beavers 14-10 in the final frame

BEAVER TRACKS

• Haley Hildenbrand scored a season-high 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor to lead the Beavers
• Kari Clements reached double figures in scoring for the fifth straight game and finished with 13 points
• Whitney Molina finished with five points and three rebounds for the Beavers
• Kari Clements, Reina Strand and Calli Delsman tied for the team lead with five rebounds
• Reina Strand also had four points and a blocked shot
• Mariah Payne led Minot State with four assists
• Anna Counts had two points, three rebounds and an assist

TEAM NOTES

• Minot State dropped to 5-3 overall and 0-2 in the NSIC
• Minot State committed 20 turnovers and the Bulldogs turned that into 23 points
• Minnesota Duluth shot 49.1 percent from the floor
