MINOT, N.D. -- David Akibo posted a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, but St. Cloud State shot 61.5 percent from the floor in the second half and the Huskies rallied to defeat Minot State 76-69 on Saturday in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• St. Cloud State built a 17-9 lead with 11:59 to play in the first half
• Minot State responded with a 12-6 run to tie the game at 23-23 with 4:47 to play in the opening period
• The Beavers stretched the lead to 29-24 on a three-pointer by Kyle Beisch with 3:30 to play
• The Huskies closed the first half on a 5-2 run to trim the Minot State lead to 31-29 at halftime
• St. Cloud State took a 54-48 lead with 10:06 to play in the second half, but the Beavers responded with a three-pointer by Max Cody and a jumper from David Akibo
• The Beavers rallied to take a 66-65 lead on a driving layup by Dorian Aluyi with 2:11 to play
• Gage Davis scored seven points down the stretch as the Huskies closed the game with an 11-3 run
