MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State softball team will look to extend its six-game winning streak this weekend as the Beavers host the Air-Supported Dome Invitational. The Beavers along with Minnesota Crookston, Minnesota State Moorhead, Providence and Dawson will compete over three days.

Saturday (Feb. 17) and Sunday (Feb. 18) will feature four games, while Minot State and Providence will wrap up the tournament with a doubleheader on Monday (Feb. 19).

Minot State posted a 4-0 record last weekend in the Air-Supported Dome with a pair of victories over Dickinson State and Mayville State to push its winning streak to six consecutive games.

Kyla Larson was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week on Monday after she batted .571 and drove in six runs during the four games against the Blue Hawks and the Comets.

Senior Tori Zimmermann, who was named the NSIC Player of the Week on Feb. 6, leads the Beavers with a .571 batting average and three home runs. She also is tied for the team lead with five doubles and ranks second on the team with 11 RBIs.

Isis Cabral has also gotten off to a fast start for the Beavers as she is hitting .467 on the season with five doubles and 11 RBIs. Larson is batting .424 and leads the team with 12 RBIs, while Julia Suchan is hitting .419 and has driven in eight runs.

Minot State, which is 7-2 overall on the season, is hitting .367 as a team and has scored at least 10 runs in a game on four occasions.

Kylie Patrick leads the Beavers in the circle as she has a 4-1 overall record and a 4.26 earned run average. Laura Mendez has posted a 3-1 record with a 4.41 earned run average in nine appearances this season.
