MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State softball team will open the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference portion of its schedule on Tuesday (March 27) when it hosts Mary in the Air-Supported Dome at Herb Parker Stadium.
The Beavers were scheduled to meet Northern State and Mary in non-conference play over the weekend, but those contests were canceled due to the storm that hit the Minot area.
Minot State, which is 13-8 on the season, boasts of one of the top offenses in the NSIC. The Beavers lead the conference in doubles with 50, are second in slugging percentage at .543, rank third in runs scored with 153 and are fourth in the league with a .344 batting average.
Sophomore 
Julia Suchan leads the NSIC with a .556 on-base percentage and ranks third in the conference with a .481 batting average, while 
Tori Zimmermann is third in the league in hits with 36, third in doubles with nine and ranks fifth in the conference with a .474 batting average.
The Beavers have six starters hitting above .300 as 
Isis Cabral (.397), 
Kyla Larson (.373), 
Ashley Hill (.365) and 
Lauren Cowden (.338) join Suchan and Zimmermann.
Kylie Patrick leads the Beavers, and ranks first in the NSIC, with nine wins in the circle. 
Laura Mendez has recorded four wins and 23 strikeouts on the year.
Mary enters the doubleheader with a 9-4 overall record and have won six of its last seven games.
The doubleheader will begin at 2 p.m. in the Air-Supported Dome at Herb Parker Stadium.
