MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State softball team begins its longest road trip of the season on Thursday (April 12) when it visits Minnesota State Moorhead for a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
The Beavers will also face Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday (April 14) and Sioux Falls on Sunday (April 15). Minot State will conclude the road trip next week when it faces Bemidji State on April 17 in Bemidji, Minn.
Minot State, which is 19-14 overall and 6-6 in the NSIC, capped a 12-game homestand by posting a 4-2 record in home contests against Minnesota Crookston, Augustana and Wayne State.

Tori Zimmermann was named the NSIC Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday. She led the Beavers to the 4-2 week by batting a robust .737 in the six games as she was 14-for-19 on the week. She had seven doubles, three homers and drove in nine runs, while also crossing the plate seven times. She had a slugging percentage of 1.579 and an on-base percentage of .720 and had a 1.000 fielding percentage behind the plate and at third base.
For the season, Zimmermann is batting a NSIC best .517 and also leads the conference with 60 hits and ranks second in the league with an .862 slugging percentage.
Julia Suchan is batting .400 for the season and is tied for the team lead with 32 runs scored, while
Isis Cabral is hitting .387 and is third on the team with 27 RBIs.
Kyla Larson, who had the game-winning hit in the second game against Wayne State, is batting .355 on the year and is second on the Beavers with 28 RBIs.
Kylie Patrick leads the Beavers staff with 11 victories, while
Laura Mendez has eight wins and posted Minot State's first shutout of the season in a 4-0 victory against Minnesota Crookston.
Minnesota State Moorhead enters the doubleheader with an overall record of 9-17 and a NSICÂ record of 2-6.
