MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State softball team will continue its current homestand this weekend as it hosts Augustana and Wayne State in its fifth and sixth consecutive home doubleheaders in the Air-Supported Dome at Herb Parker Stadium. The Beavers will face Augustana on Saturday (April 7) for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. and then face Wayne State for a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. on Sunday (April 8).
Minot State, which is 17-12 overall and 4-4 in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, snapped a three-game losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of Minnesota Crookston on Tuesday in the Air-Supported Dome. Senior
Tori Zimmermann powered the Beavers to the sweep as she belted three homers in the doubleheader and drove in six runs.
Laura Mendez twirled a four-hit shutout in the opener as the Beavers won 4-0 and Zimmermann hit two homers and drove in four runs in the second game as Minot State posted a 13-2 win.
Zimmermann ranks as one of the top hitters in the NSIC as she is currently tied for the conference lead with a .490 batting average, is tied for the conference lead with 51 hits, is tied for the NSIC lead with 14 doubles and ranks second with an .827 slugging percentage.
Minot State, which is hitting .333 as a team, has six starters that are batting above .300 on the season.

Isis Cabral (.393),
Kyla Larson (.385),
Ashley Hill (.315) and
Lauren Cowden (.305) are all batting above the .300 mark on the season.
Cowden is tied for the lead in the NSIC with six triples, while Cabral is fourth in the conference with a .750 slugging percentage and Suchan ranks seventh in the league with her .427 batting average.
Kylie Patrick is tied for second in the NSICÂ in wins with 10, while Mendez ranks second in the conference with 97.0 innings pitched.
Augustana enters the weekend with a 24-6 overall record and a 6-0 mark in the NSIC and are currently in first place in the conference, while Wayne State is 7-20 overall and 1-7 in the NSIC.
