SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Sophomore quarterback Ben Bolinske rushed for a touchdown and also threw a touchdown pass, but Sioux Falls defeated Minot State 56-14 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference game on Saturday at Bob Young Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sioux Falls struck first when Caden Walters connected with Nate Johnson for 59-yard touchdown pass
• Gabriel Watson scored from two yards out to increase the Cougars lead to 14-0 in the first quarter
• Minot State got on the scoreboard early in the second quarter when Ben Bolinske connected with Lavante Bushnell on a 4-yard TD pass
• Sioux Falls tacked on three more touchdowns in the second quarter to take a 35-7 lead into halftime
• The Cougars opened the scoring in the second half with a pair of third-quarter touchdowns to increase the lead to 49-7
• Ben Bolinske capped the third quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run to cut the lead to 49-14
• Sioux Falls capped the scoring with a touchdown in the fourth quarter when Mason Schroyer scored from two yards out

BEAVER TRACKS

• Ben Bolinske rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown and passed for 140 yards and another score
• Lee Webb rushed for 35 yards on 11 carries
• Kylar Sharp came on in relief of Ben Bolinske and was 3-of-7 for 41 yards
• Lavante Bushnell caught three passes for 54 yards and a touchdown
• Peyton Lamoureux, Kaydn Sharp, Lane Torgerson, Z'onte King and Demond Short each had two receptions
• JoseLuis Moreno averaged 41.7 yards on six punts
• Chris Rivers led the Beavers with seven tackles and he also had a fumble recovery
• Ryan DeMarois had six tackles and 1.0 tackle for loss
• Kiante Goudeau finished with six tackles

TEAM NOTES

• Minot State is 1-4 overall and 1-4 in the NSIC
• Minot State had 12 first downs and 258 yards of total offense
• Minot State forced a turnover for the fifth consecutive game
