MINOT, N.D. -- Sophomore Karli Koza had 18 digs, one kill and an assist, but Minot State dropped a 25-8, 25-22, 25-21 decision to Upper Iowa in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match on Saturday in the Minot State Dome.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Jeanne Brenner recorded three kills, but Upper Iowa hit .483 on its way to a 25-8 first set victory
• Shelby Spuller had five kills and Jeanne Brenner added four kills, but Upper Iowa pulled away late for a 25-22 win in the second set
• A Minot State rally fell short in the third set and Upper Iowa finished off the Beavers with a 25-21 win in the third set

BEAVER TRACKS

• Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with 11 kills
• Jeanne Brenner finished with nine kills
• Karli Koza had a match-high 18 digs
• Hayley Swain and Shelby Spuller each had one block
• Kelsey Dewulf recorded 31 assists and four digs
• Nicole Wondrasek finished with five kills and three digs

TEAM NOTES

• Minot State is 9-9 overall and 3-6 in conference play on the season
