Shelby Spuller had 13 kills and
Emily Falldorf added 10 kills and three blocks, but No. 3 Northern State defeated Minot State 25-23, 25-8, 19-25, 25-14 in the Beavers home opener on Saturday in the Minot State Dome.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Northern State overcame a 13-9 Minot State lead with a 7-1 run midway through the first set on its way to a 25-23 win
- Northern State hit .550 in the second set as the Wolves took a 2-0 lead with a 25-8 win
- Minot State bounced back to win the third set 25-19 as the Beavers hit .289 and got five kills each from Shelby Spuller and Emily Falldorf
- Northern State captured the victory with a 25-14 win in the fourth set as the Wolves posted a .400 attack percentage

- Shelby Spuller led the Beavers with 13 kills, which marked her seventh double-figure kill match of the season
- Emily Falldorf posted her third double-figure kill match of the season with 10
