St. Cloud, M.N. – Minot started out with an early lead against St. Cloud State but couldn't hold on through the final quarters of the game.
Madison Wald and
Kari Clements combined for 31 points on the night, six assists and two steals. The Beavers lost to the Huskies 60-67 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women's basketball match up on Friday evening in Halenbeck Hall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The high and low scoring first two quarters put the beavers behind by one point going into halftime.
- The Beavers highest scoring quarter came in the fourth with 19 total points, but they couldn't catch up to the Huskies.
BEAVER TRACKS
- Madison Wald was the leading scorer against the Huskies with 16 points from six field goals and four 3-pointers
- Kari Clements started the weekend off with 15 points and two blocks
- Mariah Payne kept the team going with fourteen points, six rebounds and six assists to help lift the beavers
- Haley Hildenbrand was 6-of-9 from the field with 13 total points on the night and six rebounds
TEAM NOTES
- Minot State shot 47.2 percent from the field and 31.6 percent for 3-pointers on the night
- Minot State finished with a total of 28 rebounds on the night, but were out rebounded by the Huskies 38-28
- With the loss to St. Cloud State, Minot State falls to 6-9 overall and 1-8 in conference play
