Minot State Wins Battle of the Beavers

Minot, N.D. – Mariah Payne, Madison Wald, Kari Clements and Whitney Molina all had double digit scoring tonight to lead the Beavers in two overtimes for a win against Bemidji State University 86-74 in the first of two home Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference matchups this weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Beavers came out in the first quarter strong to lead the Bemidji State Beavers 16-11
  • Closing out the second quarter with 11 points had your Beavers heading into halftime on top by three points
  • A strong third quarter by Bemidji State closed the lead 45-44
  • The Beavers battled throughout the last quarter to send the game into overtime with a score of 60 all
  • A last minute second chance basket by Whitney Molina was just after the buzzer to send the game into another overtime – score 69 all
  • Minot State outscored Bemidji State 17-5 to win the game in the second overtime 86-74
BEAVER TRACKS
  • Mariah Payne led your Beavers in scoring with 18 points and also had four rebounds
  • Madison Wald was your second leading scorer with 15 points, while handing out three assists and catching seven rebounds
