Minot, N.D. – Minot State completes their first weekend sweep of the 2018-19 conference today with the win over Minnesota Crookston 80-69. Minot State had three Beavers with double digit scoring and two with over 20 points on the night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Minot State jumped out to an early lead over Minnesota Crookston in the first quarter 21-12
- The Beavers widened their lead over the Golden Eagles to 18 heading into halftime
- The Golden Eagles scored 21 points in the third quarter to close the gap 57-49
- Minot State closed the game strong outscoring Crookston in the fourth quarter 23-20
BEAVER TRACKS
- Madison Wald scored her 1,000th career point tonight while leading the Beavers with 22 points, three rebounds and two assists
- Mariah Payne also led the Beavers in scoring with 22 points, seven rebounds and three assists
- Kari Clements had 10 points and led the Beavers with four assists
- Calli Delsman added nine points on the day and took down nine rebounds
TEAM NOTES
- Minot State's largest lead on the night was by 20 and they led the game for over 39 minutes
- Minot shot 55.0 percent from the floor and 35.3 percent from behind the arc
- With the win against Minnesota Crookston, Minot State advances to 9-11 overall and 4-10 in conference play
