MINOT, N.D. -- The Minot State softball team will open the 2019 season by participating in the tenth annual Desert Stinger Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev., on Feb. 1-3 at Majestic Park.
The Beavers open the season on Friday (Feb. 1) against Northwest Nazarene at 4 p.m. Minot State will then face Humboldt State at 9 p.m. also on Friday.
Day two of the tournament will see the Beavers play MSU Billings at 1:30 p.m. and San Francisco State at 6:30 p.m.
Minot State will conclude tournament play on Sunday (Feb. 3) with a game against CSU Monterey Bay at 1:30 p.m.
Minot State finished the 2018 season with a 25-24 overall record and a 12-14 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. The Beavers advanced to the NSIC Tournament and broke over 20 NCAA Division II era school records over the course of the season.
The Beavers return four of their nine offensive starters from last season and were picked to finish 9th in the NSIC coaches' preseason poll, up two places from the year prior.
