Beaver Volleyball to Travel for Final Two Games of 2019 Season

(MINOT, N.D.) -- The Minot State volleyball team will again hit the road for more NSIC competition. This weekend's games at Sioux Falls and Southwest Minnesota State will be the final games in the 2019 campaign. 
The Beavers will visit the Cougars of USF on Friday, Nov. 15 at 6:00 p.m. and then travel to Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday, Nov. 16 for the season's final contest. 
 
Series History 
 
vs. Sioux Falls 
  • USF leads the all-time series versus Minot State 10-5.  
  • The Cougars won the most recent match between the teams by a score of 3-0 (9/20/19) and the very first match 3-1 in 2010. 
  • The most recent Minot State victory came five years ago when the Beavers won in five sets (10/4/14).  
  
vs. Southwest Minnesota State  
  • SMSU is unbeaten in their history with the Beavers as they hold a 10-0 advantage in the all-time series.  
  • The Mustangs defeated MSU earlier this season 3-0 (9/21/19). 
  • Minot State has never taken a set from Southwest Minnesota State. 
  
Beaver Tracks 
  • Shelby Spuller leads the team with 322 kills.  
  • Emily Falldorf has been playing solid on both sides, with 176 kills and 51 blocks. 
  • Senior Hayley Swain leads the Beavers in blocks with 69.  
  • Mackenzie Froehlich has 739 assists on the season, averaging 8.12 per set.  
  • Karli Koza has 428 digs on the season and is averaging 4.65 digs per set.

Sioux Falls
   
  • Kasandra Springer leads the Cougars with 317 kills.  
  • Krista Goerger has 881 assists this season with an average of 10.13 per set.  
  • USF has six players with at least 100 digs this season including Alli Maloney (357), Springer (258), Georger (192), Brooklynne Albrecht (189), Tiarose Nagami (125), and Nicole Jacobson (118). 
  • Kenzie Byers has been a force defensively with a team-high 73 blocks. 
Southwest Minnesota State 
  • Angela Young leads the Mustangs in kills with 399.  
  • Emma Thomssen is atop the SMSU roster in assists with a total of 631 and an average of 7.42 per set. 
  • Southwest's service aces leader is Payton Hjerleid with 31 on the season.  
  • Zoe Lier holds the team-high in blocks with 78.  
  • Also on defense, Hjerleid has the most digs on the team with 391 to her credit.
