(
MINOT, N.D.) -- The Minot State University baseball team has officially released its schedule for the 2020 season. The schedule features a challenging slate as usual.
Â
In the short non-conference slate, the Beavers will face two teams that finished with above .500 records in Missouri S&T and Colorado Mesa University. The games against Colorado Mesa represent a significant test as they won over 50 games last season, were ranked in the top 10 in the nation consistently throughout the season and made it to the NCAA Championships.
Â
The conference schedule also includes some fierce competition. The Beavers face seven teams who finished over .500 in Augustana, Minnesota Crookston, Minnesota State Mankato, Northern State, St. Cloud State, Wayne State, and Winona State. Augustana won the NSIC postseason tournament last year and wound up advancing to the NCAA Super Regionals.
Â
The non-conference slate begins on February 15 with the Beavers taking on Missouri S&T for two games, then moving on to a pair of games against William Jewel. After that, the Beavers will take on Missouri Western State University, and then close out the month, and begin March with a quartet of games against perennial contender Colorado Mesa.
Â
Minot State then has a couple of weeks before swinging into the NSIC slate. In March, the Beavers take on Sioux Falls, Upper Iowa, and Augustana in three-games series' before ending the month with a pair of games against Wayne State.
Â
The Beavers have their first home series to start the month of April, beginning with a mid-week doubleheader against Concordia-St. Paul. Following that, Minot State hosts Minnesota State Mankato for a three-game series before ending the homestand with a doubleheader against Winona State. Before coming back home, the Beavers go on the road to take on Northern State for a three-game series. The Beavers then come back home for a nine-game homestand. The Beavers welcome UMary, Southwest Minnesota State, St. Cloud State, and non-conference foe, Dakota College of Bottineau. The Beavers close out the month on the road at Minnesota Duluth for four games, and Bemidji State for two.
Â
The Beavers then close the regular season at home, welcoming Minnesota Crookston for three games.
