Molina's Last Second Layup Clinches Double Overtime Victory

CROOKSTON, Minn. – After the scrum for a loose ball, Calli Delsman fired a bullet pass to a wide open Whitney Molina for the game-winning layup with three seconds left as Minot State escaped with a 78-77 victory in double overtime at Minnesota Crookston on Friday night.
 
The win propels the Beavers to 12-13 on the season and 7-12 in NSIC play while the Golden Eagles drop to 10-15 (5-14 NSIC).

How It Happened
  • Minnesota Crookston jumped out to a quick 9-0 lead before Minot State ended the first quarter with a 9-3 rally to cut the deficit to 12-9 after the first 10 minutes.
  • The Golden Eagles extended the lead to six in the second quarter before the Beavers climbed back to tie the game at 19.
  • UMC connected on a three-pointer with 10 seconds left to take a 28-26 lead at halftime.
  • Minot State never led in the third quarter as the Golden Eagles outscored the Beavers 10-8 in a defensive third quarter.
  • After a low scoring first three quarters, the teams combined for 44 points in the fourth quarter.
  • Kari Clements knocked down a trey from the right wing after the kick out pass from Wald with four seconds left in regulation to force overtime.
