TUCSON, Ariz. – The Minot State baseball team concluded its road trip to Arizona with a convincing 13-2 win over Nebraska Wesleyan on Thursday in Tucson, Ariz.
Thursday's win marks the fifth consecutive win for the Beavers and the fifth straight game scoring 10+ runs.
How It Happened
- Wyatt Schlosser began the game with a triple before opening the scoring on a sacrifice fly from Michael Borst.
- A trio of singles in the bottom of the first inning led to Nebraska Wesleyan tying the game at one.
- Minot State took the lead back when Ryley Humrighouse scored on an RBI groundout by Tyler Wiltshire after reaching on a double.
- The Prairie Wolves tied the game one last time in the fourth inning, scoring their final run on an RBI single.
- Mason Gifford drove in a pair of runs with a two-RBI single while Borst added a two-RBI triple as Minot State scored seven runs in the sixth inning to take a commanding 9-2 lead.
- The Beavers knocked in four runs in the seventh off an RBI single by Gifford, RBI double from Schlosser and a two-RBI single by Borst.
