Gonzalez's Walk-Off Clinches Home Sweep

MINOT, N.D. – The Minot State softball team picked up a 9-1 win in six innings in game one before Alina Gonzalez lifted an RBI single with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh to give the Beavers a 13-12 walk-off victory over Minnesota Crookston on Wednesday at South Hill Complex.
 
The two wins push the Beavers to 24-19 overall and 13-13 in NSIC games.

How It Happened
  • The Beavers jumped on the Golden Eagles early with three runs on a pair of Minnesota Crookston errors in the first inning.
  • UMC scored its lone run of the game in the second on a walk with the bases loaded.
  • Maggie Mercer opened the third inning with a bunt single and Karlee Coughlin reached on an infield single.
  • Mercer touched home a sacrifice fly by Lauren Cowden while Coughlin scored on a single up the middle by Jamie Odlum.
  • Coughlin ripped a two-RBI double to right center, scoring Mercer and Rebekkah Withouse in the fourth inning.
  • Cowden followed Coughlin with an RBI single up the middle to plate Coughlin.
