Schlosser Shines on Senior Day

MINOT, N.D. – Senior Wyatt Schlosser launched a pair of three-run home runs on Saturday in a doubleheader vs. Minnesota Duluth, guiding the Beavers to a sweep at Corbett Field on Senior Day.
 
Minot State improves to 30-14 overall on the season and 22-8 in NSIC action.
 
Game One: Minot State 10, Minnesota Duluth 7
 
How It Happened
  • The Bulldogs raced out to a quick five-run lead with five runs on five hits in the first inning.
  • Trevaun Smith drew a walk and scored on a sacrifice fly by Darrel Doll to plate Minot State's first run in the bottom of the first.
  • Michael Borst and Doll posted back-to-back walks in the third inning before Celestino Rodriguez singled home Borst.
  • Schlosser's RBI single scored Doll while Ryley Humrighouse drilled a two-RBI double to right center, scoring Schlosser and Rodriguez, tying the game at five in the third inning.
  • Minnesota Duluth scored its final two runs of the game on a two-run home run to right in the top of the fourth.
  • The Beavers cut the deficit in half when Doll's sacrifice fly brought home Smith in the bottom of the fourth.

  • UMD cut into the lead with three runs on five hits in the third inning.
  • Andrew Black scored on a wild pitch in the fourth and Geordie McDougall scored on a sacrifice fly by Smith to stretch the lead to 6-3.
  • The Bulldogs scored a run in the fifth to trim the deficit to two.
  • Minot State responded with a pair of runs on a two-RBI single by Rodriguez to score Borst and Ethan Fleming in the bottom of the fifth.
  • The Bulldogs scored their final two runs of the game on a two-run home run.
  • Pokorney's RBI single and Schlosser's sacrifice extend the Minot State lead to 10-6 in the sixth.
