MINOT, N.D. – Senior Celestino Rodriguez continued to add to his decorated career at Minot State as the senior became Minot State's all-time leader in home runs on Saturday vs. Augustana.
 
The Vikings throttled Minot State 12-2 in the first game before clinching the doubleheader sweep with a 13-7 win in game two.
 
Game One: Augustana 12, Minot State 2
 
How It Happened

• Augustana scored a run in the first and added a pair in the second to take a 3-0 lead.
• The Vikings tacked on five runs to stretch the lead to 8-0 after three innings.
• Michael Borst singled to right field and Mason Gifford doubled him home to score Minot State's first run in the fifth inning.
• Rodriguez lifted a solo home to right field to become the MSU all-time leader with 29 career home runs.

• The Vikings began the second game with a run in the first inning.
• Borst singled home Humrighouse in the bottom of the first before stealing home to give the Beavers a 2-1 lead.
• Minot State added to its lead in the second inning when Humrighouse ripped a two-RBI single up the middle to score Geordie McDougall and Rodriguez.
• Augustana responded with two runs on two hits in the third to cut the lead to one, 4-3.
• Trevaun Smith lined a solo home run to right center to hand Minot State a 5-3 advantage.
• The Vikings tied the game at five in the fifth inning before Rodriguez's sac fly brought home Gifford to give the Beavers a 6-5 lead in the bottom half.
• Augustana scored three runs in the sixth and two in the seventh to extend the lead to 10-6.
• Humrighouse's RBI groundout cut the Augie lead to 10-7 before the Vikings tacked on three runs in the ninth.
