(Colorado Springs, Co.) -- Minot State Volleyball had a challenging time on day one of the Mountain Lion Invitational.
The Beavers first match of the day was against the Colorado School of Mines who were 3-1 going into this match. The Beavers lost the match 3-0, with senior middle blocker leading the way with for Orediggers leading the team with 16 kills and sophomore setter Drew Stokes had 37 assists.
The Orediggers were dominant in the first two sets winning 25-14 and 25-17. Minot State came in with a different mindset in the third set but was not enough to win the third set with the score being 25-19.
The team leader for the Beavers was junior setter Mackenzie Froehlich with 18 assists and senior middle hitter Emily Falldorf with six kills.
In the second match, the Beavers faced an undefeated Angelo State volleyball team where they lost match 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-21).
Junior libero Karli Koza produced 10 digs leading the team in that category while senior outside hitter Shelby Spuller produced five kills.

Minot State returns to action on Sept. 14 for day two of the Mountain Lion Invitational consisting of two matches against University of Arkansas Fort Smith and University of Colorado Springs.
