Tough Competition on the Last Day of the Mountain Lion Invitational

(Colorado Springs, CO.) -- It was a difficult day for the Beavers on the last day of the Mountain Lion Invitational.

Minot State began the day taking on the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. They were heading into the invitational at 3-1.

The Beavers knew the Lions were a great team and prepared themselves accordingly for the challenge. Minot State fought hard but lost the match in three sets to the Lions 25-10, 25-20, 25-18.

The second match of the day was against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs who were 1-2 heading into the last match of the tournament.

The Beavers lost the match in three sets 25-21, 25-16, 25-17 to the Moutain Lions to finish the tournament. In the first set, Minot State led 17-16 before the Mountain Lions would go on a 5-0 run which gave them a comfortable margin to win the first set.

The second set was very competitive, with each team answering each other. Leading 12-9, the Mountain Lions went on a 3-0 run to extend the lead to 15-9. Senior outside hitter Emily Falldorf led the team with three kills in this set.
