(Wayne, Neb.) -- Minot State University Volleyball fell in its first NSIC bout on the road against Wayne State College Friday night.
Coming into the match, the Beavers knew they were facing a tough team as Wayne State College is currently ranked #17 in the nation. The results were not in the Beavers favor, falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-15, 25-15).
Wayne State went on an early 9-3 run to begin the match with junior middle hitter Jaci Brahmer doing most of the damage on the run. She ended the set with nine kills. The Beavers answered back with two kills coming from senior Emily Falldorf. Though her contribution was significant, it was not enough to win the first set with the final score 25-13.
In the second set, the Beavers could not come out victorious, losing 25-15. Senior Jeanne Brenner had two kills in the set, and outside hitter Shelby Spuller had back to back service aces.
The Wildcats controlled the third set going on a 10-4 run before Head Coach Dana Cordova called a time out to end the run. After the time out, Wayne State continued the momentum and closed the third set and the match, winning 25-15.
Spuller led the team in digs with ten and junior libero Karli Koza helped with nine of her own. Junior setter Mackenzie Froehlich continues to produce in the assist column for the Beavers, as she had 17 assists.

The Beavers will make a quick trip over to Sioux Falls, S.D. to face Augustana University tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
