Shane LaDage Named Head Football Coach at Briar Cliff University

MINOT, N.D. -- Today, Shane LaDage was named Head Football Coach at Briar Cliff University. LaDage served Beavers football as an Assistant Coach for the last five seasons and most recently was the Assistant Head Coach/Wide Receivers/Recruiting Coordinator at Minot State University.

MSU Head Football Coach Mike Aldrich on LaDage's contributions to the Minot State football team. "Really excited for Coach LaDage. He did a great job for us here at Minot State. He is a great coach and person with a great family and a great leader. LaDage will battle and fight to do things the right way and he will find success. The Briar Cliff Chargers football team is lucky to have him lead the charge!"

LaDage leaves the Beavers after serving as an assistant coach since 2015 and was named associate head coach in 2019. LaDage has gained a wealth of experience with MSU football, performing the roles of co-offensive coordinator, wide receivers coach, special teams coach, recruiting coordinator, and interim head coach.

In 2019, LaDage helped the Beaver offense set a program record in single-season rushing yards since joining NCAA Division II and produced the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's Newcomer of the Year, tailback Ali Mohamed.

Coach LaDage on his new opportunity at Briar Cliff and his reflections on Minot State. "My family and I are extremely excited to join Briar Cliff University as their new head football coach. This opportunity would not have been possible without the amazing people at Minot State University. Andy Carter and Mike Aldrich have been two of the most influential people in my life and I would not be in this position without their guidance and leadership. To the rest of the MSU football staff, you are all excellent coaches and even better people. I am forever grateful for our time together. I'd like to especially thank the players. The hardest part of leaving MSU is saying bye to you guys. I hope I made half the impact you all made on me. Once a Beaver, always a Beaver! #BuildTheDam"

LaDage's coaching resume also includes stops at the University of Wyoming (2014-15), Saint Joseph's College (2013-14), and Southwest Minnesota State (2011-2013). While at Wyoming, LaDage worked primarily with the tight ends and coached three athletes who made NFL rosters.

He will move to Sioux City, Iowa with his wife, Michelle, and two daughters, Brooke and Abigail, and begin his duties on Jan. 4.
