SPEARFISH, S.D. -- The Minot State track and field team put together solid performances at the Myrle Hanson Open at Black Hills State University.
On The Track
Lewis Cotterill earned his second podium finish and first win of the season in the 800m with a time of 2:01.28 which is good for the third-fastest time in the MSU DII era.
Marco Murillo also finished on the podium in the 800m with a second-place time of 2:08.23.
Joseph Green clocked the third-fastest time in the 200m with a marking that was good for No. 9 in the DII era for Minot State (23.25).
Chase Doty grabbed 4th-place in the same event with a time of 23.47 and picked up a 4th-place finish in the 60 with a time of 7.33.
Chase Tandy finished 2nd in the men's 400m with a time of 50.53. His time was the 10th-fastest time in DII this weekend and the 4th-fastest time in MSU DII era.
Emily Hansen finished with the third-fastest time in the women's 800 (2:30.06) and
Ashley Miller finished second in the women's 60 with the No. 8 time in the DII era (8.48). In the women's mile,
Whitney Hanson stepped to the podium with a third-place finish and a time of 5:21.7.
Linda Perez finished fourth with the No. 6 time in DII era for MSU (5:22.93), and
Caitlin Cornell rounded out three in the top-five for the Beavers with a time of 5:31.89 and a 5th-place finish.

In The Field
Grace Loftus grabbed a second-place finish with a jump of 3.65 in the women's long jump during the field events.
Breanna Johns-Oster finished 4th in the shot put with a throw of 12.06m,
Peyton Lammerding joined her in the top-10 with a shot put of 11.69 to finish 7th.
Chloe Gunderson finished 11th with a toss of 10.4 and
Fadzai Madavo finished 13th with a toss of 8.62.

Grace Loftus (2nd, long jump - 3.65)
Logan Krueger (2nd, weight throw - 16.92 and 3rd, shot put - 13.46)
In the weight throw, Johns-Oster finished 4th with a toss of 15.13 which is good for No. 3 in the DII era for Minot State.
Tori Nygard finished 5th in the event with a throw of 15.00 which is No. 4 in the DII era for the program. Lammerding finished 6th with a toss of 14.14 (No. 6, DII era),
Sophia Kenyon placed 10th with a toss of 12.19 to round out four Beavers in the top-10 of the event during Friday's first day of competition.
The Beavers track and field team is back in action back in Spearfish, South Dakota at Black Hills University once again on Saturday, Jan. 30 in the Dave Little Alumni Mile Invitational.
