DULUTH, MINN. -- The Beaver women's basketball team fell 72-57 to the Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs on the road Saturday.
MSU (0-4, 0-2) had two players score in double figures, led by
Calli Delsman, who had 15 points, six rebounds, and four assists.
Bethany Theodore added 10 points and four steals from the bench and
Amber Stevahn added eight points.
Minot State forced 14 Minnesota Duluth turnovers while committing 11 themselves in Saturday's game. The Beavers turned those takeaways into 13 points on the other end of the floor. Theodore's four steals led the way for Minot State.
How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 21-13 at the end of the first quarter.
The Beavers continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 41-23 halftime deficit.
Following halftime, Minot State kept the Bulldogs from growing their lead before going on an 8-0 run to trim its deficit to 47-37 with 4:21 to go in the third. UMD countered and stretched its lead to 58-43 heading into the fourth. Minot State played well near the basket, scoring 10 of its 20 points in the paint.
Minot State could not pull any closer in the fourth, losing by a final of 72-57.
