LEMONT, Ill. –
Anya Ross led the way for the Minot State golf teams with a Top-10 finish as the Beavers wrapped up play at the Flyer Invitational hosted by Lewis University on Monday and Tuesday.
Ross shot a 14-over 158 (79-79) for the two-day event, tying for ninth overall as she turned in her best rounds of the fall, leading the Minot State women's golf team which also finished ninth in the team standings at 90-over 666 at the par-72, 5,963-yard Cog Hill Golf & Country Club.
On the men's side,
Easton Evanoff led the way for the Beavers as he tied for 23
rd at 9-over 153 (76-77). The Minot State men's team finished 11
th at 51-over 627 (314-313) in the team standings at the par-72, 6,855-yard Cog Hill Dubsdread Course.
While Ross led the way for the Beaver women's team,
Taylor Cormier and
Jaci Jones also added Top-50 finishes at the 36-hole tournament as Cormier tied for 30
th at 20-over 164 (84-80) and Jones tied for 35
th at 22-over 166 (83-83).
Holly Knudsen rounded out the scores for the Minot State women, tying for 55
th at 34-over 178 (89-89).
For the Beaver men,
Carlos Caloca and
Andrew Makarchuk both tied for 47
th overall with matching 13-over 157s as each shot rounds of 79 on Monday and 78 on Tuesday.
Sid Ullyott tied for 63
rd at 16-over 160 (80-80) for Minot State, and
Colton Horn tied for 87th at 26-over 170 (83-87), rounding out the Beavers' scores.
Host Lewis won the women's team title by 14 shots with a 48-over 624, while Bellevue won the men's team title by 22 strokes with a 5-over 581.
McKendree golfers swept the individual titles as Imogen Rafferty was the women's champion with a five-shot victory as she shot 2-over 146, and Phasin Vichitcharoenpaisarn was the men's individual tournament champion with a 1-under 143, winning by two shots.
