FAYETTE, IA --Cam'ron Dunfee scored 20 points, but the Minot State men's basketball team fell to the Upper Iowa Peacocks 77-62 on the road Friday.
Dunfee added seven rebounds to his 20 point game to lead the Beavers (12-5, 6-5). Max Cody helped out with 13 points and three steals and Eli Cave chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds coming off the bench.
The Minot State defense was a problem in Friday's game, forcing 13 Upper Iowa turnovers. Those takeaways turned into 16 points on the offensive end of the floor. Cody's three steals led the way individually for the Beavers.
How It Happened
Minot State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 44-32 heading into halftime.
Upper Iowa kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 68-48 advantage before Minot State went on a 6-0 run to shrink the deficit to 68-54 with 4:07 to go in the contest. Upper Iowa responded and outscored the Beavers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 77-62. Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 16 of its 30 points in the lane.
