MINOT, ND --The Minot State volleyball team battled hard in a tightly contested NSIC match against the visiting Winona State Warriors before falling 25-8, 25-20, 25-14 Friday at home at MSU Dome.
The loss dropped Minot State's record to 0-12 overall and 0-5 in NSIC action. Minot State next hosts Upper Iowa on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Emily Kotelnikoff finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Beavers offense. Minot State also got 14 digs from Tea Boeckel to lead them defensively.

SET 1 | The Beavers found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-8. Minot State trailed by as many as 17 points as Winona State never surrendered the lead in a set that was knotted up zero times before the Warriors took control.
SET 2 | A 25-20 set-two loss put Minot State in a 2-0 hole in the match. The Beavers couldn't persevere past a ferocious Winona State rally in the second set, falling after leading by nine points at 19-10 earlier in the set.
SET 3 | Minot State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Beavers fell in a tough set 25-14. Minot State trailed by as many as 11 points as Winona State grabbed the advantage for good at 5-4 in a set that was tied up five times before the Warriors took over the lead.
