MINOT, N.D. -Â Despite grabbing early leads, the Minot State volleyball team could not beat a dynamic Peacocks offense Saturday at home losing to Upper Iowa 25-21, 25-13, 25-13 in NSIC action.
The loss dropped Minot State's record to 0-13 overall and 0-6 in NSIC play. The Beavers next play at Minnesota State on Friday at 6 p.m.
Taylor Wyatt finished with seven kills on the day to lead the Beavers offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .250. The Beavers also got 9 digs from Lucia Mercolini to lead them defensively.

"During timeouts I'm saying, 'they may change something but nothing changes on our end, we go after every ball, we still swing through every ball," Minot State coach Alex Lehocky said. "Then we started getting a little timid; then just minimizing our errors, they kept going on seven or eight points runs and we just can't have that."
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Beavers found themselves in an early hole, losing the first set 25-21. After Minot State took a 7-1 advantage, Upper Iowa rallied as the Beavers trailed by as many as seven points as Upper Iowa grabbed the advantage for good at 10-9 in a set that was tied up two times before the Peacocks took control.
SET 2 | Minot State then lost set two 25-13 to fall behind in the match two sets to none. Minot State trailed by as many as 12 points as Upper Iowa grabbed the advantage for good at 7-6 in a set that was tied up three times before the Peacocks took over the lead.
SET 3 | Minot State could not win the third set and was swept by Upper Iowa. The Beavers dropped the first point and never took the lead before losing the set 25-13.
