MINOT, ND --The Minot State men's basketball team out-rebounded in a riveting game against the Upper Iowa Peacocks 34-26, but fell 84-73 at home Saturday.
 

The Beavers (9-9, 6-8) had four players score in double figures, led by Cam'ron Dunfee, who had 18 points, Ben Bohl who added 13 points and two steals, and Jaxon Gunville with 11 points.
 

Minot State out-rebounded Upper Iowa 34-26 in Saturday's game, led by eight boards from Connor Hollenbeck. The Beavers also pulled down 11 offensive rebounds and scored 17 second chance points.

How It Happened

After jumping out to a 26-25 advantage, Minot State went on a 5-0 run with 6:29 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Dunfee, to increase its lead to 31-25. The Beavers then added one point to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 45-38 advantage. Minot State relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down six shots to account for 18 of its 45 points.
 

The fourth quarter made the difference as Minot State struggled against a strong Upper Iowa defense who took the lead and gained an 84-73 come-back victory.


Overall, Minot State took care of business in the paint, recording 14 of its 28 points in the lane.
