MINOT, N.D. – With nearly a week to rest and regroup, the Minot State volleyball team is back in action to begin a long road trip. After falling in a 3-0 sweep to the Augustana Vikings, the Beavers will embark on a new challenge when they start their weekend in Wayne, Nebraska. The first contest on Friday will feature the NSIC's top dog when the Beavers battle the No. 1 ranked Wayne State College Wildcats. First serve is set for 6:00 p.m. After a quick appearance in Nebraska, Minot State will travel northbound to Sioux Falls for a clash with the Cougars. That matchup will take place as a Saturday matinee with a 2:00 p.m. start time in South Dakota.
Last time the Beavers and Wildcats met was over a year ago on October 15 in Nebraska, where Wayne State took it in a convincing 3-0 sweep. Wayne carries a heavy win total on the Beavers with 13 total victories in their matchup history. Although it will be a tall mountain to climb, Minot State looks to change the course. History with Sioux Falls has not been kind to the Beavers either, as the Cougars have won 14 matches against Minot State. The most recent meeting took place in Minot at the Dome where the Beavers fell 3-0 on the home hardwood back on October 8 of 2022.
The Beavers get back on the regular schedule routine after having just one game last weekend. These two games are the start of Minot State's longest road trip of the conference season. The first weekend of November will have the Beavers going to Minnesota for matchups against MSU-Mankato and St. Cloud State.
